When it cannot wait until morning
Lock emergencies do not keep business hours. The door slams behind you while the car is still running. The key snaps off flush with the cylinder on a January morning. Someone puts a screwdriver through the back-door deadbolt while you are at work, and now the house cannot be locked at all.
Every one of those is a call we take, and we take them at any hour. Emergency Locksmith Huntsville has run a 24 hour locksmith dispatch since 2015 — one number, a person on the other end, and a licensed mobile technician sent from that conversation.
What “emergency” means to us
It means we do not put your call in a queue behind tomorrow’s scheduled rekeys. It means the truck carries the picks, the key machines, the transponder programmer, the common commercial cylinders and the plywood, so that most calls finish in one visit instead of “we will order the part.”
And it means we tell you the price on the phone. The after-hours rate is the after-hours rate whether you are three miles from our shop on University Drive or out past Meridianville.
What we handle at 3am
Lockouts are the obvious one, but they are not the majority of what wakes us up. Failed hardware is. Deadbolts that will not retract because the house has shifted and the bolt is binding on the strike. Commercial panic bars that latch and never release. Mailbox and cabinet locks that jam at the worst moment. A lock that has stopped working is not an inconvenience — it is a door that either will not open or will not close, and both are emergencies.
Break-ins are the calls we most want to get quickly. A forced door is an unsecured house, and an unsecured house at 1am is a second break-in waiting. We secure the opening that night — new cylinder, new strike, plywood if the frame is destroyed — and give you a written quote for the permanent repair in daylight.
What it costs, before we come out
Emergency work costs more than scheduled work; anyone who tells you otherwise is padding somewhere else. What we will not do is quote one number on the phone and produce another on the driveway. The table above is the honest range for North Alabama, and your exact price is confirmed before any tool comes out of the truck.
Then what?
A lockout is usually a symptom. If you were locked out because the key is worn to a nub, we will say so and cut you a fresh one. If the deadbolt jammed because the door has dropped on its hinges, we will shim it rather than sell you a lock you do not need. And if your keys were stolen rather than lost, we will recommend a rekey instead of a whole new lock — same security, a fraction of the cost.
